1) Reading Circles
Reading Circles are small groups of students who meet in the classroom to talk about stories. Each student has a special role, and usually there are six roles in the Circle. Move your mouse over each role to learn more.

Leader
Role: to guide the discussion and make sure everyone has a chance to speak. Role: to look for both differences and similarities between the discussion group's culture and the culture found in the story. Culture

Role: to find important, interesting, or difficult passages and ask the group questions about them. Role: to find the key points that everyone must know to understand and remember the story. Summariser
